Tattoos have a very long history.
Over the generations tattoos have taken many different styles.
In the early times tattoos would be done with a stick, needles and ink made from various plants and flowers.
They started off as a way to mark your rank or position in the community.
It was also very tribal!
Tribal tattoo art became one of the first major known tattoo style.
To this day, tribal tattoos are still very popular and have a lot of meaning.
You can read more about the history of tattoos in my blog post here.
In this post i’d like to talk about the perception of Tattoos in the modern world.
As the centuries have turned many stigmas have formed around this artform.
From religious treason to unprofessionalism.
It’s quite a controversial subject.
It becomes even more controversial with your desired placement of tattoo.
Certain placements have built there own stigmas and are looked at differently no matter what the art may be.
While I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion…
I think it’s total B.S to tell someone what to do with their body.
As for religions fight against tattoos,
They say your body is your Temple and not to tattoo it.
But let me ask you a question….
Have you ever looked at a religious temple?
If you did l, you would notice the brilliant artwork that shows beauty and depth and that art is used to depict the strength of the Lord and those times.
So what is different about it being tattooed on my personal temple?
There isn’t one.
However, if that is your beliefs…
Im not here to step on your toes.
I’m here to tell you that perceptions have loosened a bit…
And even if they haven’t in your practice or your family…
I have great news.
You can still get as many tattoos as you like,
The full experience of getting a tattoo,
Without the pain or the degradation.
We will talk more about that in a minute.
How things have changed…
Today tattoos are still seen in many ways,
But people are starting to accept the artform on a major scale!
Today doctors and teachers and even preachers are getting tattooed.
The stigma is starting to fold as people start to appreciate the beauty in their freedoms.
The ability to pick something that means the world to you
And have it permenantly depicted in your body,
Is one of the greatest feelings of happiness, pride and freedom.
Many professions still have rules about showing tattoos and even those are becoming fewer and further between.
It’s about time that we come to appreciate such an interesting art for what it is.
The work that goes into creating tattoos, from the design to the stenciling to the outline and then the shading and the ability to keep realism…
It’s much different than painting a mural.
It’s creating a piece of art that flows with that person’s body.
Today people are starting to more so understand the ideology behind tattoos
And with any luck,
In the near future…
These stigmas will be broken down completely
And people will have complete freedom to show their art & to express themselves!
What about the painless way I mentioned?
Well today Wicked Image Tattoos has also decided to roll with the changes.
We wanted people to be able to get a tattoo even if they cannot get a tattoo.
Keeping in mind, some people can’t get tattooed due to health issues, religion, or infections and they should be free to wear tattoos with pride too.
So how do we approach this in a way that works for everyone???
We do it through apparel.
We have many designs already drawn from our own collections, but that doesn’t help the person who wants their own tattoo design…
So we decided to take new digital appointments so we can create your design for you.
We can talk about what you would like and how you would like it laid out,
Design it to your liking and have it printed on any item you would like!
T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, watches & mugs to name a few.
This is a painless tattoo, that isn’t permanently on your body.
So no one could possibly have anything against you getting a t-shirt right?
It’s still your custom tattoo design,
Drawn by a real tattoo artist,
In a real tattoo shop.
Then we take that and make it into your favorite apparel you own!
It’s yours,
It’s unique,
It’s personal,
It’s meaningful….
And let’s face it….
The importance of life all comes down to meaning and perception.
So today we learned that the stigmas around tattoos are rooted many centuries in the past.
We learned that tattoos have a traditional, meaningful and important place in our world and our society.
We learned that they are becoming drastically more popular and more accepted.
Most importantly…
We learned that no matter your , gender, health, religious beliefs, family rules, job restrictions…
Wicked Image Tattoos has you covered.
We will soon be back to tattooing,
And in the meantime can give you a whole new approach.
We learned about the New Wicked Image Apparel and how you can create anything you want and be accepted anywhere and everywhere.
So what do you think?
Does this open a new option for you to explore?
I hope you enjoyed this post,
Learned something new and exciting
And discovered we have your best interests in mind!
